Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Overview: Join a collaborative, patient-focused rehabilitation team dedicated to empowering individuals through occupational therapy. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement customized treatment plans that promote independence, mobility, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions based on individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Support patients in regaining skills related to daily living, cognitive function, mobility, and strength.
- Collaborate with the rehab team to design engaging programs tailored to patient needs and capabilities.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques to reinforce treatment goals.
- Participate in care planning meetings, staff conferences, and interdisciplinary discussions.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain therapy equipment, report repair needs, and ensure a safe, organized environment.
- Uphold a high standard of compassionate, person-centered care.
- Contribute to patient safety efforts, including assisting during emergency evacuations when needed.
- Meet established productivity standards for patient care hours.
What You Bring:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (AOTA/ACOTE standards).
- Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of practice.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse patient needs.
- Proficient in documentation and familiar with electronic medical records.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Compassion, creativity, and patience—especially when working with older adults.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, twist, and lift up to 75 lbs as needed.
- Capable of working in various environments, including indoor/outdoor settings and therapy gyms.
- Visual acuity for close work and mobility monitoring.
Work Style:

- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
