Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant to join our team. This position involves both administrative duties and hands-on work with dogs in a rehabilitation setting. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, enjoys working in a team, and has strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and rehabilitation practitioners with handling and restraint of dogs during therapy sessions.
- Support treatment set-ups including preparation of therapy equipment and supplies.
- Monitor patients for comfort and safety during rehabilitation exercises.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients, answering phones, and scheduling appointments.
- Maintain accurate medical and administrative records.
- Clean and prepare treatment areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the clinic.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary, kennel, or animal care setting preferred but not required (training provided).
- Strong animal handling skills, with confidence working with dogs of all sizes.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to both pets and owners.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks and computer systems.
