Job Description:
- We are seeking a skilled and reliable full-time Diesel Mechanic with a positive attitude to perform maintenance and repairs on class 8 tractors, temperature control units, and trailers at our Billerica, MA terminal.
- In addition to typical equipment service such as PMs and tire replacements, the successful candidate must be willing to learn new technology: vehicle diagnostics, communication devices, and tablets.

Preferred Experience:
- High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
- Valid driver's license (CDL strongly preferred)
- 5 years experience working as a diesel mechanic
- 5 years hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic systems, and diagnostics experience
- Knowledge of Diagnostic tool system
- Experience working as a Mechanic on heavy commercial trucks and trailers
- Working knowledge of ThermoKing and Carrier temperature controlled units
- Experience with Tablets and App technology
- Familiarity with federal annual Inspection criteria
- Able to conduct inventory and order parts as needed
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Diagnose and repair issues in diesel engines.
- Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulics, brakes, transmission, steering, and other systems.
- Capable of performing maintenance on tractors and trailers.
- Able to mount/dismount truck/trailer tires.
- Capable of performing safety checks on equipment.
- Capable of coupling/decoupling and moving equipment around the terminal.
- Prepare and enter work orders into Fleet Management System.
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.
- Prepare work orders and order parts.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Knowledge and experience with electrical and hydraulics.
- Must have the ability to lift, push or pull 70 pounds, climb heavy equipment, and bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for prolonged periods.
- Must have strong communication and listening skills and be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
