JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager
JOB SUMMARY: Regular People is a creative studio that seamlessly connects producing, marketing, and general management under one roof. We champion audience-first and artist-first strategies, helping theatrical productions thrive through innovative campaigns, strategic positioning, and deep engagement with audiences and partners alike. We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to join our growing management pod and strengthen relationships with clients, collaborators, and artists across the theatrical landscape. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution and is central to building up our management practice for Regular People and client productions.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Financial management
Develop and oversee production budgets from capitalization through recoupment
Manage cash flow and prepare weekly cash position reports for producers
Calculate and process royalty payments to creative teams and rights holders
Prepare investor offering documents ex: recoupment schedules, production budgets, financial reports, cash flow projections, etc.
Contract negotiation & administration
Negotiate and administer union agreements with AEA, IATSE, USA, SDC, AFM, and related unions.
Execute agreements with creative teams, vendors, and co-producers
Draft and manage touring contracts, licensing deals, and transfer agreements
Company operations
Oversee day-to-day operations of the production office
Hire and supervise company managers, production assistants, and administrative staff
Coordinate across departments to ensure smooth production workflow
Venue & booking
Negotiate theater licenses and venue agreements with landlords and presenters
Coordinate load-in/load-out schedules and theater availability
Producer & investor relations
Serve as primary liaison between the producing entity and all creative, technical, and vendor partners
Keep producers informed of financial status, operational matters, and key decisions
Help structure investment offerings and communicate with limited partners throughout the production's life
Legal & Compliance
Partner with entertainment attorneys on all contract matters and corporate filings
Ensure compliance with union rules, labor laws, and applicable regulations
Manage production insurance, workers' compensation, and HR obligations
Box office & revenue
Oversee ticketing strategy, house seat allocations, and group sales agreements
Collaborate with marketing on pricing strategy and promotional structures
Manage ancillary revenue streams including merchandise, cast recordings, and streaming rights

SCHEDULE: Full-time (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday
START DATE: ASAP
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$75,000-85,000 annually, commensurate with the candidate’s experience
