Human Resources Director
Location: Queens, NY (Hybrid – Remote & On-Site)
Reports To: Director of Operations / Executive Leadership
About Us
We are a growing healthcare organization operating Article 28, 31, and 32 programs in Queens, NY. Our team of under 50 employees—including medical providers, mental health professionals, management, and support staff—is expanding to meet the needs of our community. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Director to lead all aspects of HR as we continue to grow.
Position Summary
The Human Resources Director will serve as the primary HR leader, responsible for overseeing all human resources functions including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and policy development. This role will ensure that HR practices support our mission, regulatory requirements, and organizational culture.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead recruitment efforts for medical, mental health, management, and clerical roles.
· Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain top talent.
· Manage job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and offer letters.
· Oversee new hire onboarding, credentialing, and orientation processes.
· Develop training programs to support compliance, staff development, and organizational growth.
· Draft, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures consistent with NYS labor laws and healthcare regulations.
· Ensure compliance with Article 28, 31, and 32 program requirements.
· Maintain employee handbook and organizational HR documentation.
· Serve as point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and workplace matters.
· Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.).
· Oversee performance review process, disciplinary actions, and terminations when necessary.
· Manage HRIS/payroll system in collaboration with finance.
· Track PTO, benefits, and employee records.
· Provide HR metrics and reporting to leadership.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
· Minimum 2 years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit organizations.
· Familiarity with Article 28, 31, and 32 programs strongly preferred.
· Strong knowledge of NYS labor laws, healthcare compliance, and HR best practices.
· Experience supporting small to mid-size growing organizations.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with leadership.
Work Environment
Hybrid role: mix of remote work and on-site presence in Queens, NY.
