Duties
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems.
- Install new HVAC equipment following detailed schematics and design specifications to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system calibrations, and preventive inspections to maximize efficiency and longevity.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using tools like ohmmeters and welding equipment to resolve system faults swiftly.
- Conduct plumbing repairs related to HVAC systems and assist with ammonia refrigeration setups when required.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, HVAC design documents, and mechanical drawings to guide installation and repair activities.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, and compliance documentation for property maintenance standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a solid understanding of HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair including boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliance repair.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles during installation or troubleshooting processes.
- Mechanical aptitude complemented by skills in welding, equipment maintenance, and property upkeep.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience as a driver is preferred for on-site visits.
- Familiarity with field service operations involving complex mechanical systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to ammonia refrigeration and other hazardous materials handling.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and the ability to perform equipment repair under tight deadlines.
