Position SummaryThe Hearn Associate focuses on ensuring speech and debate opportunities for our one hundred and eighty member Hearn Society. Regis seeks a qualified candidate to join its faculty and staff as a Hearn Associate beginning September 2026 for the Academic Year 2026-2027. This is a full-time position with benefits. Work hours may vary and will include some evenings and weekends for school events. The 2026-2027 school year for faculty members ends on June 15, 2027.Job ResponsibilitiesChaperoning and judging at weekend speech and debate tournaments.Coordinating speech and debate practices.Supervising and evaluating research for debate cases; reading debate outlines.Supervising and evaluating articles for extemp (current events) filing.Writing extemp questions for tournaments.Supervising research for and the editing of original oratories.Coordinating the selection of appropriate dramatic and humorous material for the interpretive categories.Training of Hearn judges.Coordinating the logistics of the multiple tournaments hosted by Regis.Supports and is willing to advance the Catholic and Jesuit mission of the school.Works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis High School stands.Any other assigned tasks.Qualifications & SkillsStrong organization and communication skillsFamiliarity and or prior experience with high school speech and debateStrong independent work ethic with attention to detailsEducation A bachelor’s degree is required.StatusThis is a full-time position, from 9.1.26 thru 6.15.27.Compensation & Benefits Salary $26,000.00Most benefits go into effect immediately.Other expectationsA willingness to work at times outside the normal school day and school year, including weekend events and summer immersions.The school expects one to conduct oneself at all times in a manner which shall not bring reproach upon oneself or the school.The job description is to be used merely as a guide of expectations rather than an exhaustive list of all duties and competencies.
