High School Assistant Swim Coach (MHS/Sanford)

Regional School Unit 57 Position: Assistant Coach – Swim Team Location: Massabesic High School Athletics (Practices held at Sanford-Springvale YMCA) Start Date: Winter 2025 Season Description: Massabesic High School is seeking an enthusiastic and supportive Assistant Swim Coach to join our program for the upcoming winter season. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to foster a positive, competitive, and inclusive team environment that encourages student-athletes to grow both in and out of the pool. Responsibilities: Assist in planning and leading practices at the Sanford-Springvale YMCA. Support swimmers of all skill levels in improving technique, endurance, and race strategy. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and commitment among student-athletes. Contribute to meet preparation, lineups, and meet-day operations. Communicate effectively with athletes, families, and school staff. Ensure compliance with all MPA, SMAA, and district policies. Qualifications: Prior swim coaching or competitive swimming experience preferred. Strong knowledge of stroke technique, training methods, and safety protocols. Excellent communication and motivational skills. Ability to collaborate with the Head Coach and athletic department staff. Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements.
