Administrative Assistant – Guidance
Description:
RSU 57 (Massabesic Schools) is a public school district established to teach all children in the towns of Alfred, Limerick, Lyman, Newfield, Shapleigh, and Waterboro. Location: Massabesic High School
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two years of clerical, office, or customer service experience preferred
Effective organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
Ability to use technology to aid in job performance
Job Goal:
To assist the Guidance Office in the effective performance of clerical functions.
Reports to: Building Administrator(s)
Performance Responsibilities:
Provide office support to School Administration and Counseling Staff
Prepare and maintain student records including student attendance, testing, and transcripts
Schedule appointments and testing, as needed
Schedule college and university visits
Keep and maintain student community service records
Prepare and provide educational verification documentation to requesting parties
Perform routine office work including typing, posting, filing, recording, and classifying
Disseminate information to teachers, students, parents, and other groups as appropriate
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with FERPA
Assist Main Office staff with afternoon dismissal and coverage, as needed
Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
Terms of Employment
Salary, work year, and working conditions are determined by the RSU 57 School Board.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with RSU 57 School Board Policy.
Physical Demands:
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, lift anywhere from 25 to 75 pounds, and perform other physical tasks that may be required from time to time. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
