What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (Cardiac Rehab) position at REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER?
This position performs activities relating to the daily functioning of the cardiac rehab department, in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies.
Two-8 hour shifts per week
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Facilitates the operations of the department
- Monitors patients EKG response to exercise
- Interprets and responds to dysrhythmia
- Supervises and monitors the patient constantly throughout exercise session
- Teaches pulse-taking and exertion perception rating skills
- Assists with assessing the patients needs and setting goals for lifestyle modification
- Performs admission interviews
- Performs recordkeeping functions
- Maintains the patient's medical record
- Assists in conducting audits/QI processes
- Performs charging functions daily
- Assists in the provision of holistic care to the cardiac rehabilitation patient
- Performs individualized education and instruction to patients and families
- Communicates effectively with medical staff, hospital personnel, patients and families
- Responsible for carrying out physician orders as they relate to cardiac rehabilitation
- Recognizes patient needs and makes referrals for ancillary services
- Performs basic physical assessment of patients
- Identifies risk factors and motivates patient and family to adopt lifestyle modifications
- Records and reports any changes in patient condition/status
