What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outpatient Behavioral Services Therapist (LMHC or LISW) position at REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER?
This position performs behavioral therapy for outpatients of Regional Family Health in accordance with hospital and departmental standards and policies. The Behavioral Health Therapist works with patients, families, providers, nursing staff, patient care representatives and staff to promote timely access to needed care, providing daily continuity of care coordination, and coaching patients, families, and caregivers to understand the patient’s care plan and self-care management responsibilities.
- Provides psychotherapy
- Conducts diagnostic interviews
- Provides individual, family and group psychotherapy, in the office and other sites as authorized
- With the consumer, develops a service plan
- Assesses and diagnoses persons seeking psychotherapy
- Consults with psychiatrists, psychologists, physicians, and other staff, as needed
- Effectively documents assessment, service plan, progress, crisis intervention, discharge and other consumer information in a timely manner
- Assures that treatment authorizations are acquired in a timely manner
- Provides consultation and education services
- Assures that the program operates in an organized, therapeutic manner
- Works effectively as a team member
- Performs constant reassessment of needs with assurance that consumers are offered the most appropriate services internally and/or externally
- Prioritizes tasks & responsibilities with timely attention to emergencies
- Understands and follows policies and procedures
- Recognizes signs and symptoms of mental illness
- Maintains licensure in good standing, if required
- Meets professional and/or departmental code of ethics
