Responsibilities
Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the HVAC and Plumbing Service Department.
- Coordinate technician scheduling with dispatch.
- Monitor technician productivity, utilization, and efficiency.
- Manage after-hours service rotation and emergency response.
- Assist technicians with complex troubleshooting and technical support.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
Customer Service
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Follow up on completed work to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and service issues.
- Participate in customer meetings and account reviews.
- Assist with developing long-term preventive maintenance relationships.
Financial Management
- Review work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Quote repair work and service projects.
- Monitor labor hours and material costs.
- Maintain department profitability.
- Track KPIs including gross margin, billable efficiency, callbacks, and revenue.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, interview, and hire technicians.
- Coach and mentor field personnel.

Fleet, Inventory & Equipment
- Manage truck stock and inventory levels.
- Oversee company tools and equipment.
- Monitor fleet condition, maintenance, and cleanliness.

Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure OSHA compliance.
- Verify technicians maintain required certifications and licenses.
