Job Title: Dock Supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Status: Full-time (40 hours) Non-Exempt
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school or equivalency diploma. Prior supervisory experience and experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical warehouse setting and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, pulling, and reaching. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of a power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.
Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing all activities of the receiving dock while ensuring safe, accurate and efficient loading and unloading of product. Maintains cleanliness of the receiving dock. Supervises Receiving Dock Associates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Unloads deliveries of donated and purchased goods.
2. Accurately receives product into the inventory system.
3. Places received items into reserve.
4. Validates seals and temperatures on incoming loads and transfers.
5. Loads Food Pantry of the Capital District and other agency orders onto trucks.
6. Prepares empty pallets and all returnables for outgoing shipments.
7. Ensures baler is emptied daily.
8. Ensures doors are secured when not in use.
9. Responsible for validating proper temperatures for freezer, cooler and dry warehouse. Reports concerns to Director of Warehouse Operations or Facilities Manager.
10. Maintains a clean and safe workspace.
11. Inspects power equipment prior to use.
12. Follows all safety standards and procedures.
13. Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
14. Adheres to the Food Bank’s Employee Code of Conduct.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
