Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the academic growth of students across various grade levels. As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into classrooms in the absence of regular teachers, delivering lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring that students remain engaged and productive.
Responsibilities
- Maintains working knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, NC Child Care Regulations, RCS Employee Handbook and RCS Head Start Operations Manual.
- Provide the children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment.
- Offer a program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual and social needs of both the individual and the group.
- Function as part of and help build a supportive team.
- Maintain a room arrangement that is safe, clean, inviting, interesting and stimulating.
- Carry out appropriate and positive discipline as established by the lead teacher
- Work in coordination with all component areas.
- Sensitive and responsive to parents and act as resource person for them.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred.
- 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required
- Able to obtain clean background checks through the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS).
- Will need a TB skin test and physical on file
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
