Driver Manager

Job description:

Regency Transportation is a family owned, mid-sized truckload carrier, serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. We are currently hiring an experienced dispatcher to join our operations team.

A dispatcher serves as the immediate supervisor to drivers and is the primary point of contact for all driver-related issues.

Acting as an advocate for driver needs and support, and managing productivity, while maintaining a healthy and professional relationship with all drivers. Communicate with drivers (phone/remote/face to face) regularly. Help resolve common delay issues, while communicating any delay with our customers and internally. Execute pre-planned routing with as little variance as possible, maintaining constant communication with the planning department on any gaps, conflicts, or delays, within a driver’s route/plan.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Build and nurture partner relationships with customers, drivers and operations team

- Ability to communicate frequently and professionally by phone, email and in person

- Update and maintain Transportation Management System – both internal and external

- Able to work both independently and within a team

- Proactively identify problems and implement effective solutions

- Achieve individual, team, and company goals and objectives

Skills/Requirements:

- Must have strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations

- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment

- Extremely organized and detail oriented

- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build professional relationships

- Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem solving, & decision-making skills

- Must have strong computer skills. Outlook, word, excel etc....
