Staff Accountant

Regency Supply is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our dynamic team as a Staff Accountant. This role is an excellent opportunity for a financial professional to utilize their expertise in accounting and finance, while playing a crucial role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, financial reporting, and conducting both month-end and year-end close processes. In addition, the candidate will be involved in financial analysis, audit and compliance and fixed assets. The role also requires close collaboration with other departments and the ability to manage ad hoc projects as needed. Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries so that the financial statements properly reflect all revenues and expenses. These would include journal entries that are not posted to the general ledger directly from the sub ledger.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Ensure that account reconciliations adhere to GAAP. Analyze the data and have sufficient documentation to support the balance.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements. Evaluate the margins and general and administrative expenses to determine the accuracy and completeness of the amounts analyzed. If amounts deviate from the budget, understand why such a variance exists.
• Assist with the year end budget and monthly forecasts.
• Support department heads in addressing financial statement inquiries and provide guidance to other members of the accounting department in how to record transactions.
• Gather and provide data required for various audits including but not limited to sales tax audits, bank audits, 401K audit, and annual financial statement audit performed by Baker Tilly.
• Gather documentation required for the company's various tax returns.
• Maintain various accounting records and issue financial statements for Regency related entities and owners. Analyze all data that may have tax implications for owners and provide supporting documentation to external tax preparers.
• Review expense reports for completeness and accuracy as needed.
• Prepare government forms as needed.
• Assist with special projects assigned by the Controller and/or VP of Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the distribution or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also comfortable working in a team environment.

This position will be hybrid, based at our Headquarters in Chatsworth, CA, or at our Franklin, TN branch. The Staff Accountant will be required to go into the office 3 days a week and can work remotely 2 days a week.

The likely starting salary for CA applicants for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 and TN applicants $65,000 - $77,000; however, there is no guarantee of compensation or salary. Individual pay is determined by many factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location.
