JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing accounting support for the plant and its managers and for the divisions as assigned by the VP of Accounting, as well as providing analyses for acquisitions, diligence and integration
Responsibilities include:
Back-up Controller
- Assuming full Controller duties during temporary vacancies or as needed and assigned by VP of Accounting
- Ensuring jobs are closed properly, with all costs applied in the appropriate month (no out of periods)
- Ensuring rates are accurately applied to jobs, understand how rates are developed
- Communicating with managers regarding problem areas and making recommendations for increasing efficiency and for procedural alternatives
- Completion of month-end closing and account reconciliations
- Assisting with year-end physical inventory and cycle counts accuracy
- Preparing, reviewing and presenting monthly profitability report for monthly budget meetings
- Commissions and rebate reconciliations
- Reviewing automatic entries in Epicor verifying entries are being posted correctly prior to month end close for the closing month
- Reviewing accounting standards and actual cost inaccuracies
- Performing general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors
- Documenting all accounting processes and procedures as assigned
M&A
- Participate in M&A diligence and integration, which may involve analysis for inventory, rates, proforma, costs, and other aspects of the business and real estate
Other
- Additional items and special projects as assigned by manager
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with Division Presidents, Project Managers, Engineering, Plant Management, and other Senior Management leaders as well as the accounting and finance teams.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, job order reporting, variance analysis, ABC (activity-based costing), physical inventories, account reconciliations and audit preparation/ assistance
- CPA certification, CMA certification and/or master’s degree preferred

WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position will be in an indoor office setting, sitting for long periods of time.
