Field Accountant Assistant - Full Time

Position Summary
The Field Accountant Assistant provides essential support to the Field Accounting team and Business Office Managers (BOMs) across skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Oregon, Washington, California, and Hawaii. This role handles high-volume communication, resident account reviews, payer updates, payroll support, and various transactional processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Communication & Support

  • Respond promptly and professionally to high volumes of email and phone inquiries.
  • Deliver clear, courteous service to stakeholders, identifying issues and proposing practical solutions.
  • Provide remote Business Office Manager coverage as assigned.

Accounting & Resident Account Functions

  • Process correction and reversal batches.
  • Review and approve resident refunds and payer changes.
  • Assist with Business Office and Field Accounting tasks, audits, and projects.
  • Support Accounts Payable for resident accounts, petty cash, and facility needs.
  • Use PCC (PointClickCare) for accounting, billing, payer setup, deposits, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and audit trails.
  • Support workflow across multiple facilities.

Payroll, HR & Onboarding Support

  • Assist with timecard management, payroll review, and related inquiries.
  • Support onboarding documentation and employee file completion.
  • Utilize payroll systems; Paycom experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years Business Office experience in SNF; ALF a plus.
  • Working knowledge of PCC (PointClickCare) and Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • Understanding of payer types, billing processes, and resident trust accounting.
  • Experience with payroll, timecards, onboarding, and Paycom or similar systems.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, accountability, professionalism, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage high-volume tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Work Environment

  • Remote work with occasional in-person visits, training, and travel (irregular, but up to 5%).
  • Requires consistent availability and support during business hours.
  • Reliable internet access and strong phone reception are essential.
  • Fast-paced setting requiring responsiveness and adaptability.
  • Collaboration with Business Office Managers, Facility Teams, Field Accountants, and Corporate leadership.
