We are currently hiring a Maintenance Technician for our beautiful apartment communities in Bloomington, IN - Steeplechase Apartments/Meadow Creek Apartments. Salary Range: $18-$22 per hour for experienced Technicians. Standard work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with overtime as needed. Schedule also includes rotating on-call responsibilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Responding to maintenance service requests
- Restoring recently vacated units in preparation for new residents
- Working outdoors and inside apartment buildings on installations and repairs including drywall, painting, fencing, plumbing, appliances, HVAC systems, and common area clean-up
- Maintaining inventory and preparing related paperwork
- Keeping storage facilities and equipment in an orderly and working condition
Qualifications
To be considered, you must have the following:
- A valid drivers’ license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents
- Ability to effectively communicate and respond to questions from co-workers, vendors, residents, and the general public
- Experience or working knowledge of a variety of trade areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, and/or appliances
Other preferred Qualifications include:
- HVAC/ EPA certifications
- Trade school education or training
- Certified Pool Operator certification or experience with pool maintenance
Physical and Visual Activities Commonly Associated with Job Functions
Medium to heavy prolonged or repeated work standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling and lifting with frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. Inside and outside work in all types of weather. Good eye/hand coordination, color perception and the ability to differentiate colors in terms of hue and to identify a particular color or color combination from memory is required. Be able to lift and work heavy equipment and utilize a ladder as required.
