Night Porter/Driver

Night Porter/Driver works 3rd shift, operates a company vehicle and works as part of a team servicing Metrolink stations (8th & Pine to Shiloh-Scott) cleaning bathrooms, common public areas, including trains, platforms, bus stops and parking lots.   This job is entirely outdoors and involves operating a backpack leaf blower and seasonally hosing/washing of train platforms and spreading of salt along with identifying damage or areas in need of repairs and organizing supplies and equipment.  This job is well suited to people who can work competently under minimal supervision, who have the strength and stamina to lift medium to heavy equipment and spend long hours on their feet, and who can follow instructions clearly and work to a set schedule. 

Reports to: Site Manager 

Typical duties: 

1. Perform cleaning/maintenance of common public areas and bathrooms.

2. Complete work assignments in a timely manner.  

3. Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. 

4. Use and maintain equipment properly.  

5. Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely  

6. Observe safety precautions at all times.  

7. Ability to work with minimal supervision  

8. Reports safety hazards as appropriate  

9. Perform other duties as assigned  

Professional Requirements: 

1. Adhere to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.  

2. Complete monthly/annual safety training requirements.  

3. Report to work on time and as scheduled.  

4. Wear identification while on duty.  

5. Maintain regulatory requirements; state, federal and local regulations.  

6. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.  

7. Comply with all policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.  

8. Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.  

9. Participate in performance and continuous quality improvement activities.  

10. Attend regular staff and safety meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience): 

Required – High School Diploma/GED

Required - Valid Driver's License and good driving record. 

Preferred – One year of Janitor/Custodian or janitorial/custodian experience. 

Listening skills – strong active listening skills help Service Workers follow instructions clearly and understand what is required of them before beginning a task. 

Attention to detail – Night Porters ensure that the area they are managing is cleaned thoroughly, so attention to detail is a key aspect of the role 

· Time management – this job requires the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and to set schedules, so applicants need goodtime management skills 

· Physical stamina – Service Workers spend most of their workday on their feet and outdoors, operating cleaning equipment so good physical strength and stamina is a must 

Certificates required

Metro Safety Training Certification upon hire
