Key Responsibilities
• Care Implementation: Carry out prescribed restorative/rehabilitative care plans from PT/OT/Nurses.
• Mobility Training: Assist with active/passive range of motion (ROM), strengthening exercises, functional ambulation, and proper turning/positioning.
• Self-Care Training: Help residents with dressing, grooming, eating, swallowing, and using assistive devices.
• Bowel/Bladder Programs: Manage continence programs and bladder retraining.
• Documentation: Chart progress, responses, and report changes to the nursing team and therapists.
• Staff Training: Educate CNAs on restorative techniques and care plan implementation.
• Coordination: Work with therapists, nurses, and other departments (e.g., Recreation) to integrate care.
• Monitoring: Oversee the use of splints, orthotics, and other devices.
Skills & Qualifications
• Current RN or LPN license (for supervisory roles).
• Specialized training in restorative care (often includes CNA certification with specialty).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
