- Prescribe medications such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and botulinum toxin treatments when appropriate, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Monitor patient progress through regular follow-ups, adjusting medications and treatment strategies based on clinical response and side effects.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to foster recovery and resilience.
Experience
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with active licensure in the state of practice.
- Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with proficiency in psychiatric medication management and patient assessment.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflows.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children (pediatrics), geriatrics (memory care), assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of acute care environments such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center experience), inpatient units, or emergency rooms is highly desirable.
- Background in clinical research or participation in teaching hospital programs adds value to your application.
- Skills in trauma-informed care practices, crisis intervention (triage), pain management strategies, and infection control protocols are advantageous.
