Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. ____________________ Job Title: Testing & Reliability Engineer Location: Mumbai, India Reports to: Global Prototype Lead SUMMARY The incumbent will be a Testing Engineer for Portescap India site. This individual will be responsible for lab Infrastructure & Equipment Management using their thorough knowledge in testing & Reliability to provide support to research and new product development projects that create value for Portescap. The role requires knowledge of basic reliability engineering principles with some hands-on experience of reliability testing. Experience in reliability, Weibull , ALTA software will be an added advantage. He will work closely with the design and development team with various reliability testing and analysis requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Life Testing & Product Validation Lead life testing activities for both new development and existing motor platforms. Ensure robustness validation across technologies to meet reliability targets and customer expectations. Lab Infrastructure & Equipment Management Proactively identify, evaluate, and procure lab equipment aligned with evolving testing needs. Ensure infrastructure readiness to support advanced validation and qualification activities. Equipment Maintenance & Calibration Governance Own and manage Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) for all lab equipment. Ensure timely maintenance, repair, and calibration to maintain accuracy, repeatability, and compliance. Coordinate closely with external service providers and track service effectiveness. Responsible for reliability testing and functional testing of motor and Gearbox, execute reliability test plan, testing and monitoring motor performance and prepare reliability report. Reliability prediction and analysis of field failure data and test data. Noise & Vibration Testing Expertise Conduct and support noise and vibration testing across different motor trials. Perform detailed analysis of test data and generate actionable insights and reports. Support engineering teams in identifying performance improvements and design optimizations. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management Develop and maintain SOPs for Job Risk Assessment (JRA) and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA). Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential hazards in lab operations. Drive corrective and preventive actions to ensure a safe and compliant testing environment. Functional Competencies Basic understanding of reliability engineering fundamentals. Basic Understanding of new product development cycle. Hands-on product testing & analysis experience is a must. Familiar with DFMEA, PFMEA. Education and Experience Requirements B. Tech with 5-7 years of relevant experience in Test Engineering with basic knowledge on reliability testing KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Program Management and Application Development Engineer. External: Suppliers, Test Laboratories and Universities Personal Trait / Profile Innovation mindset and passionate about change- lives by continuous improvement philosophy. Strong analytical ability with data reasoning and detail orientation. Self-motivated and committed to driving actionable plans and results oriented. Ability to work collaboratively between teams and global interfaces. Ability to understand internal customer needs and strategies with the intent of establishing and managing a common set of goals.
