Duties
- Supervise and safely manage groups of dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Monitor dog behavior and intervene when necessary to maintain a safe environment
- Walk dogs individually or in small groups
- Ensure dogs are safely leashed and under control at all times
- Clean up waste during walks and throughout the facility
- Follow feeding schedules and basic care instructions for each dog
- Maintain cleanliness of play areas, kennels, and common spaces
- Clean up urine, feces, and other messes promptly
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including mopping, disinfecting, and laundry
- Monitor dogs for signs of illness, stress, or aggression
- Separate dogs when needed to ensure safety
- Report any incidents or concerns to management immediately
- Communicate professionally with team members and pet owners as needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with dogs or animals strongly preferred (daycare, shelter, vet, or personal experience)
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Must be confident working with multiple dogs in a group setting
- Ability to stay calm and in control in a fast-paced environment
- Strong awareness of dog behavior and body language (or willingness to learn)
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Physically able to stand, walk, and be active for extended periods
- Able to lift 40–50 lbs
- Comfortable performing cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous dog handling or group play experience strongly preferred
- Experience with reactive or high-energy dogs is a plus
- Basic knowledge of dog behavior and safety practices
- Must be comfortable correcting dog behavior and maintaining structure in a group setting
