Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our warehouse and distribution center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and inventory management, ensuring that processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to implement process improvements that enhance productivity.
General Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible for managing storage and distribution activities in assigned building
Duties
- Ensures products are shipped, distributed or received in an accurate and efficient manner
- Makes efficient use of space within building attempting to maintain accounts together
- Ensures RF locations and RF scanner logs are maintained
- Directs the daily activities of warehouse personnel
- Ensures staffing levels are met and managed efficiently
- Informs Director of Warehouse Personnel of staffing requirements and personnel issues
- Implements training of new employees
- Ensures all policies and standard operating procedures for departments are maintained and followed
- Troubleshoots and resolves major problems
- Investigates any issues involving freight
- Evaluates inventory on hand and communicates any changes to Inventory Control Manager
- Prepares or reviews distribution documents
- Enforces rules to secure warehouse contents against loss
- Promotes and enforces safety procedures
- Completes accident and damaged property reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of warehousing and inventory control functions
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast paced environment
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer literate and proficient in Excel, MS Office
- Proven experience with WMS
Equipment Used: Computer, Two-way radio, RF Scanner, Forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse tools
Supervisory Responsibility: All warehouse employees including temp. labor assigned to building
Interface: Extensive interaction with employees at all levels
Education and/or Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
Minimum of 1-2 years warehouse operations experience at a management level
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
