Your seat at the table: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator

You will love this seat if you get, want, and have the capacity to:

HSE Compliance & Manufacturing Safety

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Ensure safe operation of machinery, equipment, and production processes
• Support compliance with ISO 9001 and internal standards
  
  

Risk Assessment, Inspections & Hazard Control

• Conduct risk assessments, JSAs, and SOP reviews for manufacturing activities
• Perform routine HSE inspections across production, maintenance, and warehouse areas
• Identify hazards (machinery, LOTO, chemicals, ergonomics) and track corrective actions
  
  

Incident Management & Continuous Improvement

• Coordinate reporting and investigation of incidents and near misses
• Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions
• Analyze trends and contribute to ongoing safety improvements
  
  

Training, Communication & Safety Culture

• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
• Support training on machinery safety, PPE, chemical handling, and emergency response
• Promote safe behaviors and employee engagement on the shop floor
  
  

Environmental, Contractor & Emergency Management

• Monitor environmental controls, waste management, and chemical compliance
• Support HSE oversight of contractors and maintenance activities
• Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, and response activities

Requirements

We need this seat to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Recognized HSE qualification such as: NEBOSH IGC or National Diploma, OSHA certification, or IOSH Managing Safely (minimum)
• First Aid and Fire Warden certification (or willingness to obtain)
• 3-5 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Working knowledge of machinery safety, LOTO, chemical safety, and environmental controls
• Experience conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage shop-floor personnel
