The Balancing Act Preschool is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Assistant Teacher to join our small childhood education team.
The summer is much more relaxed, focused on having fun and keeping cool. We will also be out and about doing field trips.
Position Summary
We are looking for someone who:

- Enjoys outdoor play and child-led learning
- Can balance flexibility, initiative, and teamwork in a dynamic preschool setting
Responsibilities
- Support the daily care and supervision of children
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Substitute teach when lead teachers are absent
- Provide classroom coverage to support teacher planning time and breaks
- Support multiple classrooms and age groups throughout the day as needed
- Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to implement curriculum and routines
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
- Assist with classroom organization, transitions, meals, and outdoor time
- Attend monthly staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development
- Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with licensing regulations
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications may include:
- Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development and play-based learning
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Some college-level ECE coursework.
Schedule & Compensation
- Part-time position, 16 hours per week or more if needed
- 8-hour shifts
- Compensation: starts at $17/hour
- 5 PTO days (sick and personal time)
