Job: Project Manager
Location: Columbia, SC
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as Project Manager for specific South Carolina DOR projects and activities; works with SCDOR Security and Technology Services (STS) Management on priorities and timeframes of projects; plans work and schedule for projects;
- Coordinates interaction between interrelated project teams; reviews and assesses progress of SCDOR projects and activities and takes corrective action where necessary
- Assists Agency management and project stakeholders in information technology planning related to the program
- Clarifies expectations and defines requirements. Directs the work activities and priorities of team leaders, architects, consultants, analysts, and technicians engaged in design, procurement, testing, and implementation of projects and activities. Responsible for providing feedback to management on staff, assignments, training, development, and performance.
- Serves as primary contact person for project stakeholders and contractors to resolve day-to-day issues, process change requests and manage schedules for projects and activities. Escalates to the management and project sponsors any issues, change requests, and schedule impacts.
- Coordinates with agency management and resources responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of components post-implementation as needed for knowledge transfer and for coordination with new implementation.
- Estimates, tracks and reports on costs, including potential hard dollar, and internal personnel and contractor hours. Reports regularly to Management and Sponsor as to project status, including project accomplishments, issues, risks, and financials. Serves as project advisor to Management, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committee.
- 9Documents expected benefits, such as reduction in cycle time, personnel savings, and any hard dollar savings for any enhancement requests other than ones mandated by legislation.
- Performs other duties and special projects assigned
Required Skills:
- Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for core project collateral, training, policies, procedures, and best practices
- Project Management Experience with infrastructure, network, or applications projects
- Experience with Full Life Cycle Change Management
- Experience with PCI, PUB1075, and/or NIST Standards.
