POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Development & Grants Support Coordinator
Department: Development / Administration
Reports To: Interim Co-Directors
FLSA Status: Overtime Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Development & Grants Support Coordinator supports Refugee and Immigrant Connections Spokane (RICS) in advancing its fundraising efforts through donor engagement, grant writing support, and communications. This role assists in developing compelling grant proposals, maintaining strong donor relationships, and contributing to outreach efforts that expand and sustain the organization’s funding base.
RICS is seeking a candidate who brings an abundance mindset and is comfortable engaging in clear, confident conversations about financial support. The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-oriented, and motivated to help grow resources in alignment with the organization’s mission and community impact. This position works closely with leadership to strengthen both grant funding and individual donor engagement.
Essential Functions
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential responsibilities listed below.
- Assists in drafting grant proposals and grant reports under the direction of leadership
- Collects and organizes program data and outcomes from staff to support grant reporting and fundraising materials
- Conducts donor outreach activities to support expansion and stewardship of the organization’s donor base
- Assists with donor communications, stewardship efforts, and development campaigns
- Conducts prospect research and tracks donor engagement activities to support development strategy and pipeline growth
- Maintains organized development and grant documentation, ensuring records are accurate and accessible
- Supports the preparation of fundraising materials and communications as needed
- Assists with communications and marketing efforts, including coordinating website content, social media posts, and storytelling initiatives as needed
- Supports leadership in organizing fundraising initiatives, outreach campaigns, and development projects
- Coordinates with office staff to ensure donor acknowledgements, documentation, and development records remain up to date
- Participates in internal planning meetings related to fundraising, communications, and outreach
- Supports preparation and onsite support of fundraising events
- Other activities as needed

Required Experience, Knowledge, & Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
- Commitment to the mission and values of RICS
- Experience with nonprofit fundraising, grant support, or development work
- Experience with donor databases, spreadsheets, or project management tools
- Comfort communicating professionally with donors, partners, and community members
- Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with leadership
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, & Skills, continued
- Experience working with refugee or immigrant communities preferred
- Familiarity with nonprofit grant processes preferred
- Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape, with the ability to identify funding opportunities and contribute to revenue growth diversification strategies preferred
Physical Requirements
• Frequently: sit, stand, climb, walk, lift 40 lbs., pull/push 20 lbs., carry 20 lbs., grasp, reach, stoop/crouch, talk, hear. Essential functions require sufficient physical ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time and operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine motor coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
Equipment / Tools Utilized
Duties of this position will require regular use of office equipment including copy machines, computer, and phone.
Compensation
Hourly Wage: $23-28/ hour
Work expectation: Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week
