Job purpose
To facilitate the Refuge House RPE Program at various schools throughout Leon County, such as Godby and Rickards High School, along with any other youth driven programming. Perform as directed to achieve successful completion of project delivery timeline.
Duties and responsibilities
- Represent Refuge House in accordance to agency mission, philosophy, and policy.
- Be accountable for professional conduct at all times.
- Communicate clearly and directly with supervisor regarding all Refuge House activities.
- Perform RPE project tasks as directed.
- Co-facilitate focus groups, face-to-face meetings, overviews, RPE curriculum and trainings, booster sessions, and other meetings.
- Meet deadlines for tasks and maintain documentation as assigned.
- Create and maintain authentic, engaging and supportive relationships with school professionals and students.
- Continue training for RPE program and facilitator.
- Operate flexibly, productively, and |professionally at all times.
- Provide accurate, reliable information to the Refuge House Management Team as requested.
- Gather data and activity reports to compile required reports for the Department of Health, as well as for Refuge House.
- Attend all mandatory trainings for both RPE and Refuge House.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires a caring, patient, good-humored, and flexible individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with individuals in a crisis. Must be capable of good decision making, and be able to remain calm in stressful situation. Additionally, this position requires an individual to be humble and teachable, and have able to follow directions.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree, plus one year of professional experience and experience in public speaking.
- Understanding of the dynamics of sexual and domestic violence.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience working with children or teens is preferred.
- Preference to candidates who have an established relationship with Leon County or schools/groups within the county.
- Strong work ethic and professional boundaries.
- Bi-lingual is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a Level 1 background check, and provide excellent professional references.
Working conditions
On-call and irregular work hours. This position requires flexibility, and the ability to competently prioritize essential tasks. Must be able to adapt to change in a high stress environment while remaining calm, focused, and professional. Requires excellent counseling skills and experience in de-escalation.
