Summary:

General Office Clerk performs responsible, sometimes confidential duties and routine administrative functions.

Description:

The office clerk must be able to perform general office duties and responsibilities.  Such responsibilities include:  the activities of account details maintenance, administrative tasks*, and all other support services.  Office Clerk must be supportive and assistive for customers, and vendors as well as the employees of the company.  Be able to make arrangements for meetings, conferences and presentations.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintaining the accounts and financial details.
  • Providing administrative services efficiently for smooth functioning of organization and effective working of employees.
  • Making arrangements and accommodations for the clients as well as employees, in addition to arranging the meetings, conferences and reports.
  • Coordinating the work activity between the employees of different departments in the company.
  • Analyzing various operations of the company and recommending any changes or improvements of the same keeping in view the company’s development.
  • Arranging training and improvement sessions to enrich the knowledge of the employees.
  • Organizes and maintains files of records and correspondence.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Knowledge of business, finance, and technical subjects.
  • Good personal and communication skills.
  • Mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Basic computer working skills.
  • Ability to coordinate, administrate and supervise.
  • Skill in the application of office methods and procedures.
  • Answer the telephone, take, and relay messages and respond to phone inquiries.
  • Good decision-making qualities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • 1-2 years’ office experience 
  • WORD, EXCEL, and 10-key calculator knowledge 
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks. 
  • Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail. 
  • Help in other areas such as: receptionist back-up, mailroom, etc. 
  • Be able to work as an individual (self-starter) as well as working as a team member. 
  • Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace.

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Bachelor’s degree in any subject or field with proficient academic performance.
  • Master’s degree in business, finance area with prior experience in administration jobs is an advantage.

*Use of safety equipment will be provided and is required for moving any heavy equipment.
