Account Sales Representative
An Account Sales Representative works with our sales team to make sure customers are happy with the products and services they get.
In general, the Role of a Small Format Sales Rep is to:
- Call on and build relationships with convenience and small store owners/managers.
- Ensure product availability (checking stock, rotating, filling coolers/shelves).
- Sell in promotions, displays, and new products.
- Negotiate for prime placement (front coolers, checkout lanes, endcaps).
- Sometimes handle direct store delivery (DSD) coordination with drivers.
What You’ll Do:
- Visit customer locations to take orders and enter them into a handheld computer system.
- Check stock levels and ensure materials for displays are being used correctly.
- Make sales calls to regular customers to: Sell more products. Negotiate better product placement. Take orders for new products. Ensure customer satisfaction.
- Submit all orders by the daily deadline .
- Use company systems to boost customer and company profits.
- Find and contact customers we’ve lost, inactive accounts, or potential new customers on your route.
- Report customer service or delivery issues to your supervisor.
- Organize returns, including broken items, saleable products, and reusable materials (like shells).
- Help with displays when needed. Check that all product dates meet company standards.
- Decide on materials needed for each customer and ensure delivery through the route driver.
- Attend sales meetings regularly.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What You Need to Have:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A clean driving record that meets company standards.
- Sales experience (preferred).
What You Need to Be Good At:
- Sales and customer service.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Following written and spoken instructions.
- Lifting up to 60 pounds sometimes.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 60 pounds sometimes.
- Push, pull, bend, stoop, stand, walk, and climb stairs often.
- You’ll work in different conditions like heat, cold, wet, or damp areas, both indoors and outdoors.
