We are seeking a motivated and dependable Local Box Truck Driver to join our dynamic delivery team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a box truck to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate a box truck for local deliveries, following all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as needed
- Verify delivery addresses, route plans, and delivery instructions before departure
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance standards are met
- Load and secure materials properly to prevent damage during transit
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ locations, providing friendly customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally
- Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or electronic tracking systems
Requirements
- Prompt, Timely, Detail-Oriented, Self-Starter
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving and non CDL driver designation
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in warehouse operations involving manual handling and moving goods
- Experience operating box trucks, commercial trucks, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques in accordance with workplace safety standards
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic regulations and DOT guidelines during all driving activities
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and delivery documentation
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads safely (75lbs max) and perform manual handling tasks regularly
