Reflections Retirement Resort is looking for a full-time chef that can assist with prepping & serving three home cooked meals daily to our residents. We are an independent & assisted living retirement resort with an incredible team of professionals. This role will be essential in providing nutritious and delicious meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents. The dietary cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
• Preparing meals to a high standard and ensuring that every dish is both nutritious and visually appealing for our residents.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during peak hours.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and make manager aware as necessary.
• Complete food & equipment temperature logs.

Qualifications

• Culinary certification or relevant professional training preferred (e.g., diploma or degree in culinary arts)
• Experience in food preparation and kitchen operations, ideally in a care, healthcare, or hospitality setting
• Ability to prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals catering to various dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, pureed diets)
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Attention to detail in food presentation
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff and care teams
• Compassion and understanding of the needs of elderly residents.
• Flexibility to adapt menus based on resident feedback and seasonal ingredients
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling practices.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
