What are the responsibilities and job description for the Blue Sky Prep Cook/Kitchen position at REFINERY SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT INC?
The prep cook is responsible for preparing food and using ingredients and recipes according to Blue Sky standards while maintaining a clean, organized and safe kitchen. This position plays an important role in keeping the kitchen stocked, prepared, and ready for service. The prep cook is to prep per the opening manager’s prep list and to not prep more than asked.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare produce, sauces, proteins, and other food according to recipe and portion standards.
- Follow proper food preparation, cooking, cooling, labeling, dating, and storage procedures.
- Maintain proper product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Keep prep areas, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate with management when products or ingredients are running low.
- Follow all food-safety and sanitation requirements.
- Properly store food at the appropriate temperatures.
- Assist other line stations when needed during busy periods.
- Complete assigned prep lists accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive, team-orientated attitude.
Expectations
The prep cook should arrive on time, be ready to work in correct uniform, stay productive throughout the shift, and communicate with the kitchen team and management. Quality, cleanliness, organization, and food safety are priorities at all times.
