Strategic Intelligence: Software and AI Research Analyst (Denver) (AC47C2D)

Referment is working with a global investment and technology firm to hire a research analyst for a strategic intelligence team focused on software, artificial intelligence, and related technology sectors.

Based in Denver, you will investigate long-cycle themes and translate technical and market developments into investment-relevant insight. The remit spans enterprise software, generative AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, and developer ecosystems, with close collaboration across investment teams.

The Role

• Research software and AI markets, business models, customer demand, pricing, product roadmaps, and competitive positioning.
• Track AI adoption, spending, implementation challenges, productivity effects, and commercialization across industries.
• Gather insight through conferences, expert consultations, product briefings, and conversations with industry participants.
• Monitor regulation, product launches, earnings commentary, and other investment-relevant signals.
• Perform advanced financial modeling, including complex adjustments between GAAP and non-GAAP metrics and intricate diluted share counts.
• Write concise analytical memos and work with investment analysts to frame questions and address evidence gaps.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least two years' relevant experience.
• Immediate professional availability is essential for this role.
• Background in technology research, software analysis, investment analysis, consulting, or market intelligence, with a specific focus on the software and AI application layer rather than hardware or semiconductor research.
• Strong hands-on experience or technical familiarity with Cloud and AI ecosystems, including tools such as AWS, GCP, Claude, and ChatGPT.
• Ability to connect technical developments to commercial consequences.
• Excellent research, synthesis, and written communication skills.
