What You Will Do:
- Lead and manage a group of engineers across multiple teams, directly overseeing ~20–25 engineers while partnering closely with tech leads who drive technical execution.
- Coach and mentor engineers through career development, expanded ownership, and growing technical leadership within the organization.
- Foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Establish strong planning and execution rhythms to ensure teams consistently deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality systems.
- Identify and remove organizational blockers that impact engineering productivity and velocity.
- Unlock team productivity through AI tools & processes and pushing to the frontier of coding agents.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide direct, actionable feedback to engineers.
- Uphold a high engineering bar through thoughtful hiring, performance management, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and leadership to align engineering execution with product strategy and company priorities.
- Ensure teams remain focused on the highest-impact initiatives across the organization.
- 10 years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping production systems.
- 5 years of engineering management experience leading and developing engineers.
- Experience managing and developing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations.
- Experience supporting, coaching, mentoring, and developing software engineers.
- Strong technical background with the ability to partner effectively with senior engineers.
- Experience leading multiple engineering teams.
- Experience operating in flat engineering organizations with large management spans.
- Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing product organizations.
- Experience improving engineering productivity and developer velocity.
- Hands-on technical background building distributed systems, APIs, or large-scale product platforms.
