The Retail Associate at Reeves Hardware Feed & Farm Store plays a vital role in supporting daily operations, customer service, and overall store presentation. This position involves assisting customers with a variety of needs, handling merchandise, and ensuring the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked. The associate will work in a dynamic environment where tasks and schedules may change with the seasons and operational requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting and advising customers in selecting feed, farm supplies, and related products.
• Load feed, supplies, and other merchandise into customer vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient handling of products.
• Unload deliveries from trucks, checking for accuracy and quality of items received.
• Stock shelves and maintain product displays to keep the store organized and visually appealing.
• Clean the store, including sweeping, dusting, trash removal, and general upkeep of the sales floor and storage areas.
• Assemble products and equipment as needed for display or customer orders.
• Assist with local deliveries, including loading and unloading products at customer locations.
• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for processing sales, returns, and customer inquiries.
• Fill propane tanks safely and according to company procedures.
• Other duties as assigned to support store operations and team members.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly bend, twist, and perform repetitive physical movements throughout the work day.
• Must be capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds or more, frequently and safely.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks in both indoor and outdoor environments for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and weather conditions, as duties may require outdoor tasks.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, feed, farm supply, or similar environments preferred but not required.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus; willingness to learn and become certified if needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for assembly and minor repairs.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions & Schedule

• Work schedule and shift times may vary based on the needs of Reeves Hardware and seasonal demand.
• Must be willing and able to adapt to a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Work environment includes both indoor retail space and outdoor/storage yard areas, with exposure to dust, animal feed, and agricultural supplies.
