Position: High School Varsity Head Volleyball Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director / Building Principal
Position Overview
Reeths-Puffer is seeking a dedicated and experienced Varsity Head Volleyball Coach. The ideal candidate will bring passion for the sport, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain a successful volleyball program. The Varsity Head Coach is responsible for all aspects of the varsity team and oversight of the sub-varsity levels to ensure program alignment and athlete development.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all phases of the volleyball program.
- Develop and implement practice plans, conditioning programs, and competitive game strategies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-first culture that emphasizes work ethic, resilience, and sportsmanship.
- Teach fundamental and advanced volleyball skills to student-athletes.
- Mentor student-athletes academically, athletically, and personally.
- Communicate regularly with players, families, assistant coaches, and the athletic department.
- Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and facility usage as required.
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure proper care of uniforms and gear.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, conference rules, MHSAA (or applicable state athletic association) regulations, and student-athlete eligibility requirements.
- Support feeder programs and collaborate with middle school coaches to build program continuity.
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience coaching volleyball at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategy, and player development.
- Ability to model and teach leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
