Internal Auditor $70K - $90K based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to work with our Compliance Team. In this role, you will support clients in the banking and financial sectors on a broad range of compliance, regulatory, and risk matters. The candidate will conduct internal financial and/or system audits and risk assessments. Test and document financial and computer system records for information and/or system integrity and transaction accuracy. Report discrepancies. Prepare audit plans and understands the specific issues to be evaluated. Execute internal audits within established business and/ or system process controls. Develop formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and regulatory compliance agencies, if applicable, and make recommendations as appropriate. May facilitate the work of external auditors during on-site visits. May require audit knowledge and skills in finance/accounting.
Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to work in a seated or standing position, for periods up to and exceeding 8.0 hours per day.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Must be able to bend, twist, and maneuver physically as needed to install, repair, and/or maintain office equipment.
Extensive use of a mouse and keyboard, and calculator.
Extended viewing of a computer screen.
Extensive use of a telephone.
Scheduling Requirements
Must be able to work a normal M-F schedule, on site, weekends as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and control the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
- Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
- Collaborate with in-house departments to develop and enhance compliance programs
- Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts etc.
- Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
- Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings
- Maintain open communication with management and compliance department
- Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum
- Conduct follow up audits to monitor management’s interventions
- Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to produce reports, assign tasks, accept instructions and handle vendor contracts, among other tasks
- Organization and the ability to multitask to complete a wide variety of tasks
- Flexibility to help them adjust to new tasks should company or office needs change
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with all employees
- Leadership ability to manage challenges and oversee employees
- Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive, employee related information.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred, degree in business administration, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Proven working experience as Internal Auditor or Senior Auditor
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations – preferably the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, Truth in Lending Act, Unfair and Deceptive Practices Act, other state consumer protection laws
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
- Sound independent judgement
- Experience in a small law firm, preferred.
- Ability to utilize MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other computer software programs in an efficient manner, and to search for help in the use of such programs independently via the internet.
