This position is available to a highly motivated individual with 2-4 years of public accounting experience that is based in Denver, CO. Individuals are encouraged to participate in firm funded bi-annual team retreats to the Aspen, CO area, enjoying all that the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer.

The Opportunity: Excellent opportunity for tax professionals with 2-4 years of experience within a public accounting environment who have exposure to corporate engagements, family office structures, private client services, pass through entities, partnerships, S Corps, & estate planning. Key Qualifications:

Technical Skills

  • Displays a fundamental understanding of firm processes and systems and works with internal teams to utilize the same to produce timely and quality work product.
  • Demonstrates the ability to efficiently and effectively use firm software, e.g., CCH Tax, CCH Document, CCH Time Entry, QBs, Excel, etc.
  • Detail review financials, proposing changes, reclasses and tax entries to use during tax return process.
  • Assists others in resolving problems related to systems or software.
  • Organize tax documentation and correspondence within software.
  • Prepare all types of tax returns without overrides (1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 990, 1041, etc.).
  • Address and clear all diagnostics, with notes to the reviewer on open items, positions and decisions.
  • Participates in quarterly, annual, or one-off planning engagements with client (with supervision).
  • Ability to identify / raise potential tax issues as part of the preparation of returns and workpapers.
  • Displays working knowledge of tax research platforms .
  • Demonstrates the ability to research tax issues and outline finds and conclusions to reviewer.
  • Archives tax position support indicating whether it is authoritative or nonauthoritative (professional commentary, IRC sections, IRS guidance, PLR, etc.)
  • Ability to draft IRS abatement letters (with supervision).
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic state taxation issues.
  • Provides accurate calculations on complex book-to-tax differences.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform a thorough self-review of work.
  • Takes initiative to learn tax concepts where there is a knowledge gap (through CPE plan or outside research).
  • Cohesively works with project teams to best serve client needs in the most efficient and effective manner

  • The capability to efficiently manage and execute organizational tasks and processes. This includes maintaining records, coordinating schedules, handling correspondence, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

  • The skill of building and nurturing a sense of belonging and collaboration within a group. This included your local communities within RH and outside of RH. This involves fostering relationships, encouraging participation, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
