Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces to create smooth, durable walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Duties
- Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to project specifications and blueprints
- Finish drywall joints with taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to achieve a seamless surface
- Install various fixtures such as trims, moldings, and corner beads for a polished look
- Read schematics and blueprints to determine layout and installation requirements
- Perform plastering, caulking, and water damage restoration as needed to ensure quality finishes
- Assist with framing carpentry, metal stud framing, door hanging, and other related tasks on-site
- Apply paint or primer using airless paint spraying techniques when required for finishing touches
- Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, masonry, tile setters, and carpenters to ensure project cohesion
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the process to meet safety standards and client expectations
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris regularly
Experience
- Proven experience in drywall hanging and finishing within the construction or restoration industry
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with plastering, taping, sanding, caulking, and texture application
- Familiarity with framing carpentry—including metal stud framing—and door hanging techniques
- Skilled in fixture installation including trim carpentry
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus but not required
- Experience working on construction sites with diverse trades such as plumbing, masonry, flooring installation, or remodeling projects is highly valued
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical instructions accurately
