Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and implement comprehensive safety programs within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Workers' Compensation laws while fostering a culture of safety and occupational health. This role requires strong leadership in training & development, incident investigation, and report writing to promote a safe working environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental health and safety policies aligned with OSHA, EPA, and Workers' Compensation regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations following incidents or near misses to prevent recurrence.
- Design and deliver training & development programs on OSHA standards, occupational health, first aid, CPR, and other safety topics.
- Maintain accurate report writing on safety performance metrics, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and ensure readiness for workplace emergencies.
- Stay current with evolving environmental laws and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies that promote a culture of safety across all departments within the manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA, EPA regulations, and Workers' Compensation law.
- Certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA training, and Occupational Health are highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in report writing, root cause analysis, and training & development initiatives.
- Knowledge of EHS best practices with the ability to lead safety programs effectively.
- Strong communication skills to train employees at all levels and prepare detailed safety reports.
- Ability to analyze complex safety issues and develop practical solutions to mitigate risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field is preferred but not mandatory with relevant experience.
