.

Our Tech’s Top Complaints about Shops:

.

Unrealistic Management Expectations

  • Pressured to rush repairs to get trailers back on the road without time for quality work
  • Blamed for callbacks or failures even when parts were backordered or the issue was rushed

.

Poor Scheduling & Workflow

  • Jobs aren’t prioritized properly (e.g., PMs take up a bay while a loaded trailer with a breakdown waits)
  • Master techs get stuck with all the "garbage" jobs while others cherry-pick or get light-duty tasks
  • Constant schedule changes or being pulled off jobs mid-way

.

Lack of Recognition or Respect

  • Not listened to when techs bring up issues (e.g., recurring faults or bad parts)
  • Feel under-appreciated, especially when managers or service writers don’t understand the technical side
  • Treated like “wrench-turners,” not expert level techs with advanced diagnostic skills

.

Low Pay Compared to Workload

  • Master techs doing advanced diagnostics or emergency field calls may earn only slightly more than someone doing basic trailer PMs
  • Pay doesn’t reflect rising cost of living, tool investment, or increasing complexity

.

No Career Growth

  • Being overlooked for advancement because management plays favorites. Even if you somehow get a raise, it’s not nearly enough!

.

Shop Politics

  • Management drama over shift schedules or job assignments

.

Unsafe Conditions

  • Indoor refrigerant exposure / toxic fumes
  • Being expected to “just get it done” without proper safety steps or enough time

.

Micromanagement

  • Managers hovering or second-guessing diagnostics
  • Being pressured to log every minute or justify time spent on tricky troubleshooting jobs
  • Excessive paperwork or digital logging systems that feel more like surveillance than support

.

Inconsistent Procedures or Standards

  • No Service Order Procedures or service checklists
  • One tech gets reprimanded for a mistake, while another gets a pass
  • Inconsistent documentation or communication from shift to shift (especially between day and night crews)

.

Junk Equipment and Trailers

  • Always being handed the worst, most abused trailers or customers
  • “Band-aid” repairs are encouraged instead of real fixes

.

No Downtime or Cooldown Between Jobs

  • Back-to-back jobs with no time to clean up, finish notes, or eat
  • Constant calls from service writers or managers before tech’s even done with their current task

.

Lack of Support from Parts or Admin Staff

  • Parts desk doesn’t know what tech’s asking for or gives wrong components
  • Parts not stocked or reordered regularly
  • Service writers schedule work without understanding how long it actually takes

.

Inflexible Schedules

  • No rotating weekends or options for 4-day shifts
  • On-call rotation without extra compensation or time off
  • Struggle to get time off for family or emergencies

.

No Input in Decision-Making

  • Shop makes major changes (shift hours, tools, vendor parts) without consulting techs
  • Suggestions get ignored, even when it could improve efficiency or safety

.

You've spent years perfecting your craft only to watch the industry betray your expertise at every turn. Flat-rate systems steal your income while service advisors collect guaranteed paychecks for creating chaos. You slave away donating countless unpaid hours while management rewards favorites and pressures you to compromise your integrity. You're trapped in a toxic cycle where your advanced skills are punished while less-qualified techs earn more on simple jobs.

.

RR completely shatters this broken system by paying premium hourly rates for all of your time and expertise. Work outdoors on your terms with genuine respect, transparent pay, and freedom from the toxic management culture plaguing traditional shops. At RR, your master-level skills finally earn what they're worth without the politics, favoritism, or burnout.

.

Stop accepting a system designed to exploit your expertise. Your years of training and tool investments deserve better than shop prison-like conditions and management that treats you like cheap labor. RR isn't just another job - it's the career liberation you've been searching for. Join our family where master techs are valued, respected, and paid like the professionals they truly are.
