Role And Responsibilities

A rigger’s primary responsibility is to ensure that heavy materials, machinery, and structural components are moved safely and efficiently on a construction site. This involves:

Load Assessment and Preparation: Evaluating the weight, size, shape, and center of gravity of materials to ensure stability during lifting.

Equipment Handling and Setup: Selecting and setting up rigging equipment such as cranes, slings, pulleys, hoists, shackles, and winches.

Rigging System Assembly: Configuring lifting systems to balance loads and prevent accidents.

Safety Compliance: Following strict safety protocols, inspecting equipment, and coordinating with team members to prevent hazards.

Team Collaboration: Guiding crane operators and other personnel during lifts to ensure precise placement of materials.
