Rodbuster Responsibilities & Duties
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and other construction documents
- Installing and tying steel reinforcement bars, also known as rebar, to support concrete structures
- Calculating and cutting rebar to appropriate lengths
- Assembling rebar cages to the required specifications
- Placing and tying rebar into position with wire, pliers, and power tools
- Working safely and efficiently at heights and in confined spaces
- Collaborating with other trades and tradespeople to ensure construction projects run smoothly
Rodbuster Qualifications & Skills
- Journeyman certification or equivalent in rebar installation
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in rebar installation
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction blueprints
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment
- Willingness to work outside in inclement weather conditions
- Willingness to travel throughout New England
