JV Girls Basketball

Summary
Reed City High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletic department as a Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage the JV girls basketball team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct daily practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
• Develop game plans and prepare the team for competitions.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of players during practices and games.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
• Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities, schedules, and player progress.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and games.
• Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to align on team goals and player development.
• Organize and manage team events, including fundraising and community service activities.
• Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance statistics, and other relevant data.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience in basketball, preferably at the high school or middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, staff, and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain prior to the season.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policy.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
