Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive systems, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs and wheel alignments to enhance ride quality and safety.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems effectively.
- Service and repair ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features such as lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to complete repairs efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, perform auto estimating tasks, and communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and timelines.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and familiarity with automotive electrical systems.
- Experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including diesel engine repair, vehicle transmission system repair, and vehicle suspension system repair.
- Ability to interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive service techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
- Valid technical proficiency in auto estimating software is a plus.
