What are the responsibilities and job description for the Flag Football Referee position at RedZone Football?
RedZone Football is hiring referees for the 2026 RZL flag football season. This is a seasonal position for 8 weeks starting August 26.
Games are Mondays & Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 pm at TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf
RZL referees are expected to administer our flag football game rules forRZL 1st-6th grade play. Refs must engage with the resources available to learn the game rules, game administration, and other points of emphasis. An in person or Zoom training (1 hour) will be required.
Pay is $25 per hour/game. All games are one hour long. Preference given to refs that can work both game nights consistently. Working both game nights will net referees ~$150 per week or nearly $1,000 for the season working nights a week, 6 games/hours.
Referees are considered independent contractors. Payments will be made in full via cash or Venmo every 2 weeks. There will be no taxes removed. Any ref that earns over $600 total will complete a W9 and RedZone must report that income. Still, no taxes will be deducted, but referees will be responsible for any income taxes due on these wages.
