Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lowboy Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate specialized lowboy trailers designed for hauling heavy, oversized equipment and materials. Your expertise in truck driving, route planning, and safety compliance will ensure timely and secure deliveries across diverse locations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in handling various trailer types, including 5-10 axle lowboy, flatbeds, step deck, and extendable trailers while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate lowboy trailers and other heavy-duty trucks such as 5-10 axle lowboy, flatbeds, step deck, and extendable trailers to transport heavy equipment and freight. This position will entail hauling upwards of 200,000lbs.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts or manual methods, ensuring secure placement for transit.
- Plan and execute route driving strategies to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ability to stay out of town is required.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, inspection reports, and load documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries seamlessly.
- Securing loads on trailers to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
Experience
- Proven truck driving experience of at least two years of lowboy experience.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is mandatory. All trucks are 18 speed MANUAL transmissions.
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual methods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to transporting freight on tractor-trailers.
- Prior experience with route driving in diverse environments is highly desirable.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
